The Documentary and a dream – photographed by Peter Lindbergh

For the 7th edition of The Documentary and A Dream we had the absolute pleasure of collaborating exclusively with Mr. Peter Lindbergh – the master of poetic street photography. Peter Lindbergh is as legendary as the magazines that have featured his iconic photographs for more than four decades: French, Italian and American Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Numero and many others.

The J.Lindeberg Biannual Book features a study of real life in the spectacle that is Times Square in New York City. Through the images, Peter Lindbergh tells a story of an encounter – one of millions – in Times Square. A story full of contrasts and counterpoints, and at large an encounter with an artistic temperament, or as Peter Lindbergh commented on the project…“On occasions like this, the images come to me, rather than me chasing them. It’s been such an inspiring project, and I truly enjoyed being involved in the whole process with the campaign and the entire Biannual Book.”

For more than three years we have been publishing the Biannual Book, The Documentary and A Dream; an exclusive, limited edition, oversized art book, where we invite talented photographers, artists and writers to interpret J.Lindeberg with artistic freedom. As the world moves away from printed media we are creating truly substantial and timeless books that are carefully mounted by hand, using the best material – performed by skilled crafts men, people who care for their trade and value their art.
