What Information About Me Is Collected and Stored? J.Lindeberg adheres to the high standards of ethical practices in all of its operations and is dedicated to protecting the privacy of all visitors to its Web Store. Our privacy policy is simple: Except as disclosed below, we don't sell, barter, give away, or rent your personal information to any company outside of J.Lindeberg and its subsidiaries. One of the basic principles we've tried to follow in designing the Web Store is that we ask only for the information we need to provide the service you have requested. As a result, the nature of the information we collect and store depends almost entirely on how you choose to make use of our Web Store and our services. Personal Information We collect and store information that you provide to us when you set up your account and use the Web Store or that you provide through our Customer Service Department. For example, when you open an account or place an order, we collect and store some or all of the following information that you provide: name, billing address, shipping address, email address, telephone number, and credit card information. This information is used to provide the products and services that you have ordered or requested, to process and ship orders, to send order and shipping confirmations and to provide customer service. Personal information may also be collected from certain portions of the Web Store in which you knowingly provide such information. For example, community postings such as chat rooms or bulletin boards, suggestions, or customer service requests. Some of the information that we collect may be used to contact you about sales, new products, special offers, and new site features, unless you have opted to not receive promotional communications in connection with the Web Store. Anonymous Information Through your use of the Web Store we may also gather certain information that does not identify you individually ("Anonymous Information"). Generally, this information is collected through "traffic data". We automatically collect and store certain other information each time you access or use the Web Store. For example, we collect your IP address, browser information and reference site domain name every time you visit the Web Store. We also collect information regarding customer traffic patterns and site usage. This information is used to analyze and improve the Web Store and to provide our customers with a fulfilling shopping experience. Cookies and Web Beacons Cookies are bits of information that we automatically store on your computer. Cookies do not contain any personally identifiable information. We use cookies to recognize you and your preferences to make shopping easier. We place a unique user identification number on your cookie and that allows us to access information that we hope will improve your shopping experience. We also use cookies to track traffic to different parts of our website in order to make improvements and optimize your shopping experience. If you do not wish to have a cookie on your system, you can set your browser preferences to refuse them (please consult your browser's help section for instructions). Web beacons are small strings of code that are placed in a web page. Web beacons are often used in conjunction with cookies to monitor activity on websites. When you visit a particular web page, web beacons notify us of your visit. Since web beacons are used in combination with cookies, if you disable cookies the web beacon will only detect an anonymous website visit. Third Parties We work with reputable third parties who perform services on our behalf. Sometimes these service providers need information about our customers in order to do their jobs, such as fulfill orders and promotions, maintain and manage our customer database and report on customer behavior and/or preferences. When we allow these service providers access to your information, we require them to maintain your information in the strictest confidence and do not permit them to use it in any way other than to help us provide you with better service. Intellectual Property All compilation and content of the Web Store, including its designs, text, illustrations, photographs, logos and images, is the intellectual property of J.Lindeberg or its content suppliers and constitutes proprietary materials, copyrighted materials, trademarks and/or trade dress. The Web Store and its content may be used only for personal, noncommercial use. All worldwide rights, titles and interests are reserved. Disclaimer The Web Store and its content are provided on an "as is" basis without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including with respect to fitness for a particular purpose and as to the Web Store's operation or content. J.Lindeberg disclaims all warranties, express or implied, to the extent permitted by applicable laws. J.Lindeberg disclaims any and all liability for any and all damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Web Store. Children’s Use of Web Store The Web Store is accessible to anyone who has access to the Internet. However, we do not collect or maintain information or communicate by email with persons that we know are under the age of 13 (unless their parents consent). The Web Store is not intended or designed to attract anyone under 13. Children under the age of 13 should ask their parents or guardians for permission before providing any personal information to anyone on the Internet. Parents and guardians should supervise their children's activities on the Internet and use parental control or other web filtering technology to limit children's access to the Internet. Acceptance of J.Lindeberg’s Terms of Use and Policies By accessing and using the Web Store, you accept the terms and policies set forth above. |
